Because the earth is held closely to a humans' heart, Ometa tries to be as environment friendly as possible. To keep our environmental footprint as small as possible, the company policy is to give something back to nature. This is why Ometa has invested in several measures to save energy and be as clean as possible. Every year, Ometa tends to take some of its profit and invest it back into a nature friendly cause. This is our way of saying "Thank You" for the resources we use.
Ometa has drilled 4 holes of 100 metres into the earth and filled it with tubing. Glycol runs through these tubes and transports heat from the earth towards the internal heat pump. This way we use geothermal energy as an energy supply for our office during the cold days. During summer, the transportation of heat is reversed and stored back in earth to keep the balance.
An IT company obviously needs servers to work with. A major disadvantage of these servers is that they lose a lot of energy in the form of heat. To be as energy efficient as possible, we pick up this energy, filter it with special air filters and transport it to the company floor. Another clever way of being energy efficient...
The office roof of Ometa is fully equiped with high capacity solar panels of Panasonic. These solar panels are used to power the servers, which are at their turn used to supply the office with warmth.
The entire office of Ometa has several power circuits with one special one: the circuit that is used for all non-critical electronic equipment. The company policy is to branch all equipment that don't need power during non-office hours onto this circuit. In the office entrance we have one manual switch that is used by the last leaving employee to switch off all power. This way all unnecessary power used by switches, monitors, office lights, etc. is saved.
All Ometa employees drive a hybrid car.
Ometa stores rain in massive reservois for non-drinking use. This way it is used to flush our toilets, clean our windows, water the plants, etc.
